November spawned a monster viewing figure for 4oD
Editor ©RapidTVNews | 06-01-2012 As part of a stellar twelve months for Channel 4’s video on demand viewing, November 2011 has proved to be the most popular month so far in 2011 for the 4oD VOD service.
The UK’s fourth national brod caster broadcaster has revealed that catch up and archive content attracted 44 million views during the month, across all the platforms on which 4oD is available. For the year to date, long form VOD views were up 17.3% year on year to 387 million and on the main 4oD platform, 4oD on Channel 4.com, average monthly unique users rose to 5.1 million, up from 4.2 million in October.
Driving the upsurge in views was entertainment, bringing in nearly 15 million views throughout the month of November, an increase of over 4 million compared with October. The popularity of programmes such as Derren Brown: The Experiments, Tool Academy, and 8 out of 10 Cats were particular drivers. Similarly, Misfits, Hollyoaks, Top Boy and Fresh Meat contributed to a strong performance for drama with over 11 million VOD views.
In terms of individual programmes, Misfits clocked up 3.5 million VOD views; Hollyoaks 3 million; Made in Chelsea, 2.8 million; Top Boy, 2.4 million; Fresh Meat, 1.8 million.
