Copaco launches IPTV service in Paraguay
Iñaki Ferreras ©RapidTVNews | 06-01-2012 IPTV is being implemented successfully in the whole of the Latin American continent and the last implementation comes in Paraguay where Copaco is about to introduce its offering.
Originally due to be launched late December 2011, the launch has been delayed due to last-minute tests to check the service's security levels and to add new content.
The platform will be tested for a month by Copaco's employees who are conducting several tests in order to check how reliable the ADSL network is and according to local reports, the is also making sure that cables are installed correctly and that the service can function properly through them.
In addition, Copaco is waiting for tech-support staff from HBO who will inspect the encryption system to prevent piracy.
Twelve thousand STBs will be installed at the first stage of implementation and the total is expected to rise to 50,000 by the end of 2012.
