New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma was back at practice as a limited participant Friday after sitting out Thursday with a knee injury.
Coach Sean Payton told the New Orleans Times-Picayune on Thursday that Vilma was on track to play in Saturday's divisional playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers. Payton indicated then that Vilma, who was a limited participant Wednesday, would be on the field for Friday's walk-throughs.
Vilma played in last weekend's playoff game against the Detroit Lions but missed the regular-season finale.
Saints receiver Lance Moore (hamstring), who has not played since Week 16 of the regular season, missed his third straight day of practice. Tight end John Gilmore (toe) and safety Roman Harper (ankle) also sat out Friday, while linebacker Jonathan Casillas (knee) was limited. Receiver Robert Meachem (knee) was a full participant.
The Saints flew to San Francisco Thursday and practiced Friday at Candlestick Park, a move that Payton said is consistent with the team's general strategy for traveling to the West Coast, according to the team's official site.
