San Francisco quarterback Alex Smith enjoyed the most productive season of his career in 2011 under first-year coach Jim Harbaugh, and he'll be rewarded handsomely for leading the 49ers to their first playoff berth in nine years.

According to his contract, Smith will receive a $1 million bonus for Saturday's divisional playoff against the New Orleans Saints. Smith signed a one-year deal this offseason with the 49ers worth $4 million.

Smith had 17 touchdowns to only five interceptions this season, as the Niners went 13-3 and earned the No. 2 seed in the NFC.
