Widely regarded by football fans as the finest possible fixture the beautiful game can offer these days, the Spanish 'el Clásico' will be played three times in as many months – and DirecTV will get to show every one of them in Latin America.
The series of matches between the two biggest clubs in Spanish football kicks off later today when, at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, Real Madrid entertain Barcelona in the first leg, quarter-final tie of the Copa del Rey 2011-2012.
Exactly a week later, it will be the Catalan outfit's turn to play hosts against the Whites in the second leg tie, while in April (playing on La Liga BBVA duty) will come the third of what could still prove more contests this year between the two giants.
The Latin American satellite TV operator has informed it will carry exclusive coverage of all three matches. They will be available on the platform's DirecTV Sports and DirecTV Sports HD channels (channel numbers 610 and 611, respectively, of the DTH operator's line-up).
As is usually the case during coverage of high-profile football events seen on DirecTV, sports journalists Juan Pablo Varsky and Pablo Giralt will be sitting on the commentators' box.
