Discovery Networks International's new free-to-air Spanish channel has begun DTT broadcasting in Spanish relying on the services of Spain Deluxe.
Deluxe Spain has been working on a new channel development strategy encompassing content accessibility, including audio description, in narrative terms of content for the visually impaired, subtitles fitted with colour-coding to improve understanding, and sign language adapted for the hearing impaired.
All these services are based on a digital content delivery platform that removes the need for physical tape. "The development of these new services meet parameters of corporate social responsibility extremely satisfactory," insisted Ramón Martos, Deluxe Spain's CEO.
Discovery MAX, the new channel from Discovery Networks International, claimed to be the only channel devoted entirely to DTT factual entertainment (non-fiction) in Spain, received on Saturday a 0.99% share in the total number of individuals and 1.76% in the channel's target audience, adults aged 25 to 44 years, according to Kantar Media consultancy.
The channel is the result of an agreement between Discovery Networks International and Spanish media group 'El Mundo''s Unidad Editorial, which has a daily news program in the channel.
