HAVERFORD, Pa. -- It was an impressive all-around effort for NYU at the Haverford Quad Meet on Friday afternoon.
The Violets posted a pair of victories at the non-scoring team meet.
Tom Donegan, making his collegiate debut, won the 400 meters in a time of 55.31.
Not to be outdone, All-American Daniel McKinney won the 200 meters (23.20) and led off the Violets' second-place 4x400 meter relay team. He combined with Zac Kish, Dharen Kadiyala and Gilson Cortes as the foursome posted a time of 3:31.49.
Another Violet making his debut was Tom Longabaugh, who placed third in the pole vault with a height of 3.65 meters (11'-11-3/4").
Head coach Nick McDonough was especially impressed by the performance of James Goldstein, who finished fifth (of 33 runners) in the 3,000 meters. His time was a personal-best 8:41.93.
"We had some solid performances today, but Goldstein's really stood out," McDonough said. "After sitting out last year with an injury, his time today was better then anything he did in high school."
Third-place finishes were also posted by Jon Simon in the 60 meters (7.02) and Andrew Zitek in the mile (4:27.19
