The Indonesian government says digital TV broadcast is expected to be evenly distributed throughout the country by the end of 2017.
Minister for Communication and Informatics Tifatul Sembiring said: "The implementation of digital TV broadcast has started in 2012 and the analogue switch-off should be by the end of 2017, meaning that even distribution of digital TV broadcast will be achieved by then.
"Broadcasting institutions will have efficiency in infrastructure and operating costs, and the technology will enable the creative industry to grow," he said.
