TV drives French ad investments

TV was the medium that drove the French advertising market in 2011 according to a new annual study from Kantar Media.
TV was the driver of a moderate ad growth of 5.5%, which represented revenues of €27.8bn in France last year (up 10.2% compared with 2010).
TV gross ad revenues, boosted by new DTT channels, reached €9.4bn, up 6% over one year. DTT channels ad revenues rose 28.4% while FTA historic channels ad revenues fell 1.2%.
Over 2011, TV cumulates almost 39% of the overall plurimedia [sic] growth, says Kantar. During 2011, TV also attracted 3.8% of new announcers.
