BBC HD expands Polish portfolio on Cyfrowy Polsat

In a further expansion into what it regards as a key market, BBC Worldwide is to launch its international BBC HD channel on Cyfrowy Polsat, Poland’s largest and the fourth largest DTH platform.

Beginning on 1 February 2012, the deal will see BBC HD available for all subscribers to the service’s extended basic tier, Extra HD and will complement BBC HD’s existing Polish services on Cyfra+, n, TPSA and UPC Polska.
The channel will BBC HD showcases the very best British and international high-definition content with a line-up of multi-award-winning documentaries, entertainment and arts programming. It will be fully lectored into Polish and will attempt to offer a true home-cinema experience.
Content highlights for the channel over the coming months include Wonders of the Solar System, How Earth Made Us, Life, Natures Great Events, Sherlock, Luther and 10 Days to War.
