Movie Network plans free VOD HBO, Showtime and Starz preview

In an attempt to lure new premium customers, the Movie Network is rolling out free multiplatform sampling of top-tier series content to customers of Rogers, Videotron, Cogeco and EastLink customers in Eastern Canada.
The free preview, available 11 February to 26 February will include HBO's new drama Luck, starring Dustin Hoffman; Showtime's edgy comedy House of Lies, starring Don Cheadle; Starz' epic Spartacus: Vengeance, in addition to Canadian original series like Less Than Kind.
The offerings will be available through the video-on-demand (VOD) and online platforms. In addition to Luck, HBO content will include smashes like Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Treme; Showtime programming will include Dexter, Nurse Jackie, Californication, House of Lies and Episodes. Originals from The Movie Network will include Call Me Fitz, Good Dog and Funny As Hell.

"This free sampling of our service will not only provide Canadians with an opportunity to experience our unique and highly successful program offering, but it will also enable them to enjoy this content on the various multiplatform viewing options that are available to subscribers of The Movie Network at no additional charge."
The Movie Network is a pay television service available in eastern Canada that includes five 24-hour multiplex channels - M, HBO Canada, MExcess, MFun! and MFest - which deliver diverse programs from various premium content partners in a commercial-free television environment.
