M&S opens up retail channel for Samsung connected TVs

Leading UK retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) has become the first UK retail partner to create an App for Samsung’s range of Smart TVs.
Available to download from Samsung’s Smart TV App store, Samsung Apps today and developed in collaboration with the multichannel video agency Adjust Your Set, the new app is designed to give viewers access to the latest in high street trends as well as tips on lifestyle, food, fashion and technology all from the comfort of their living room.
The new M&S product will join an ever-growing collection of apps covering a wide range services on Samsung Smart TVs such as BBC iPlayer, LOVEFiLM, Netflix, YouTube, Teletext Holidays, Rightmove, Thomson Local, Facebook and Twitter The Samsung Apps store is claimed to be the first and biggest market place of its type for connected TVs, with over 10 million Apps already downloaded worldwide.
Commenting on the businesses relationship with M&S, Guy Kinnell, Marketing Director for TV, Samsung UK said: “The development of the M&S Smart TV App highlights the popularity of Smart TV as the most immersive and interactive format for consumers.
