New investment opportunities in India are being eyed by European media giant Bertlesmann and its RTL broadcasting arm, through a new corporate centre in New Delhi.

The centre will join just three others around the globe: in New York, Beijing, and Bertlesmann's Gutersloh, Germany headquarters.
"Creating a corporate centre in Delhi is meant to be a statement for Bertlesmann," said Dr Thomas Hesse, president, corporate development and new business.
Hesse added the centre will act as a platform for growth in India, operating in a similar way to that in China, and will primarily be looking at investments in the education and digital media space.
It will be headed by Pankaj Makkar, a graduate of its internal 'entrepreneur programme'.
Winners from X-Factor and Indian Idol, two of RTL's properties through its production house Fremantle Media, performed at the New Delhi centre's grand opening.
Four of Bertelsmann's divisions – RTL, Random House book publishing, magazine publisher Gruner+Jah, and outsourcing services company Arvato – already have a presence in India.
