Splendid Film sells movie package to HBO Netherlands

German movie rights dealer Splendid Film has concluded an agreement with US pay-TV broadcaster Home Box Office (HBO) on the TV licensing of feature films in the Netherlands.
The pay-TV rights of more than 50 titles have been licensed for one year each, the company announced in Cologne. Financial details have not been revealed. Most of the titles are action films and thrillers including some new acquisitions from last year.
HBO launched on 9 February 2012 in the Netherlands, offering three 24 hour commercial-free premium HD-channels:, subscribers can access series such as "Game of Thrones" and "Boardwalk Empire" in addition to blockbuster movies, mini-series and documentaries.
Original HBO programmes such as "Luck" will be available in the Netherlands one day after their debut on HBO in the United States - with Dutch subtitles.
