The leading Russian DTH platform Tricolor TV has taken the surprise decision to suspend its satellite internet service.

In a statement, it says that the service, known as Tricolor-Internet, will no longer be available from March 2012.

It adds that the main reason for the suspension is its low subscriber number – less than one tenth of one percent of the total, which contrasts with growing figures for its other services.

Tricolor TV, which has around 9.5 million subscribers, will now review its internet strategy.
