Dish Network and Louisiana Media have laid to rest a more than two-week retransmission fees dispute that blacked out the feed from FOX affiliate WVUE for the satellite broadcaster's subscribers in New Orleans.
"Dish Network is pleased to announce this new agreement, and we thank Louisiana Media for its willingness to remain at the negotiating table and help reconnect Dish customers to the great FOX programming on WVUE," said Dish Senior Vice President of Programming Dave Shull. "We are most pleased on behalf of Dish customers in the New Orleans area who will continue to receive the best channel choices at the lowest everyday prices in the industry."
The multiyear deal's terms were not disclosed, but WVUE had sought an increase of as much as 300% over existing rates, Dish had said during the dispute.
WVUE anounced that a deal had been reached through a message on its Web site. The content was devoid of details: "We have reached an agreement with Dish. Service has been restored to Dish customers. Thank you for your patience."
