Consumers in Germany, the UK and France have a higher willingness to pay for IPTV products, content and improved quality if these services are not freely available through other platforms.
This is the result of a survey German consultancy goetzpartners conducted among more than 1,000 people between 14 and 69 years of age in Germany, the UK and France.

The study of IPTV viewing habits found that among IPTV products, it is video-on-demand (VOD) that people are most willing to pay for, followed by interactive features such as access to an app portal. The possibility to use content on the go is, however, not worth considerably more payment to the majority of consumers.
Regarding content, consumers share the same favourites: football is leading followed by erotic content and blockbuster movies. 40% to 50% of people asked say that they are willing to pay an additional fee for HDTV, 3D content and improved sound quality.
Altogether, according to the survey, consumers show most willingness to pay for components and IPTV content which they are unable to access using their traditional method of TV reception.
