The Ukrainian DTH platform Xtra TV is to begin testing a third transponder of the Amos 3 satellite, which is located at 4 degrees West.

According to Mediasat, this will allow it to significantly expand its pre-paid offer and introduce interactive services.

Xtra TV is backed by the Istil Group and made its debut last autumn.

Its pre-paid offer, which does not require a contract or the purchase of additional reception equipment, was introduced in November and targets the country’s 3 million FTA DTH households with premium channels not offered by FTA platforms.
