Tele Columbus grows in 2011

German cable operator Tele Columbus has continued its growth course in 2011: Turnover increased from €229 million in 2010 to €236 million.
The number of internet subscriptions climbed by 17% while the number of digital TV subscriptions rose by 40%.
Tele Columbus invested more than €70 million into its network infrastructure last year (2010: €45 million). The main focus was on fibre optic lines and network upgrade with the DOCSIS 3.0 standard which enables internet speeds of up to 400 Mbps.
Last year, the company upgraded around 550,000 households for DOCSIS 3.0 with another 250,000 to follow in 2012. Tele Columbus was also able to discharge around 190,000 households from third-party suppliers and connect them to its own cable network.
