U.S. cable MSO Bright House Networks has added ViendoMovies to the Hispanic programming lineup, a 24-hour, commercial-free film channel that showcases contemporary, exclusive and originally produced Spanish and Latin American movies. The channel will be available in the cableco's Florida markets.
ViendoMovies maintains a large presence at the U.S. Latino Film Festival, and sources films from countries in Latin America (mainly Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina) and from Spain, with contemporary plots and the newest stars and talent. The channel also celebrates both U.S. and Latino festivities with special programming and on-air pieces, emphasising the contribution of Latinos to the diversity, life and culture in the United States.
ViendoMovies says it hopes the distribution pact will open up content horizons for Hispanic subscribers. "We have no doubt that ViendoMovies will strengthen the company's offering in a genre that is key to the Hispanic TV audience, and that they will be able to enjoy our films both on our channel and on free VOD," said Luis Villanueva, president and CEO of SOMOSTV, the company that produces and distributes ViendoMovies. "We are sure that many Bright House Networks customers will pay attention to films that they have never seen before, with a top quality that has impacted the industry worldwide."
ViendoMovies is available locally on Premium Channel 947 in the lineup and via video-on-demand (VOD).
