Viacom names new VP for the Americas

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has named Rene Rodríguez as vice president of digital media for the Americas (Latin America, US Hispanic and Canada).
Based in Miami, Rodriguez will report to Scot McBride, executive vice president and COO, VIMN The Americas.
In his new role, Rodriguez will be responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of digital and interactive media and ensure the integration and expansion of both online and mobile media.
He will also lead the development and distribution of digital properties across the region, with content brands VIMN The Americas: MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and VH1, as well Tr3s, MTV, Music and More in the United States.
"Rene brings extensive experience and knowledge of new media to our company, so we are sure that will guide us to the next stage of our digital growth strategy," said McBride.
"Also, he will join the company's management team to continue to drive our recognised brands with users throughout the region."
Rodriguez has an extensive background in the area, which includes companies such as World Wrestling Entertainment, Hey Anita! and SAP.
