ZDF, ORF and SRG, the public broadcasters of Germany, Austrian and Switzerland, have chosen file movement software developed by US content management provider Signiant.
With the new and expanded installations, the broadcasters want to faciliate their digital content exchange workflows.
ZDF will install Signiant Manager and Signiant Media Exchange for use in its newly redesigned playout centre. Signiant will serve as the single content transport method for journalists, producers and other internal and external users, enabling new efficiencies to the broadcaster's processes for content ingest, aggregation and distribution.
At ORF, Signiant Manager and Signiant Media Exchange form the backbone for the accelerated movement of content within the broadcaster and during file exchange with producers and other business partners. ORF uses Signiant's solutions to provide security and efficiency to internal content proceedings such as transcoding, format conversion and archiving.
SRG has selected Signiant Manager as the file movement infrastructure for content aggregation and distribution among its French, German and Italian production centres and external partners. As with ORF, SRG will also use Signiant Manager to streamline internal content workflows such as automated transcoding and QC checks.
The move marks Signiant's second large implementation at SRG, following its recently completed digital file exchange installation for SRG's production subsidiary TPC (http://www.rapidtvnews.com/index.php...-exchange.html).
