iConcerts inks live augmented reality deal with 3DD

Expanding its multiplatform portfolio from smart TV and mobile, iConcerts has finalised a deal with UK based 3DD Group with what it claims is the first ever live performance in an augmented reality TV format.
3DD Group is formed of 3DD Entertainment and 3DD Productions and specialises in the production and distribution music programming including The Album Chart Show, KOKOPOP, London Live, Pop Profiles and 360 Sessions for Channel 4, and music and arts documentaries for Sky Arts and the Sundance Channels.
The new service, powered by the Transmedia subsidiary’s ViPas platform, will comprise a monthly TV programme, Backstage @ London Live, which has featured Usher, Katy Perry and Emile Sande, to and iConcerts will use its patent-pending platform to deliver a rich-media entertainment site and social network around London Live recordings. Viewers will access a variety of exciting features, such as backstage webcams and artist interviews and will also be able to chat and exchange media with other members of the audience through the iViPass mobile application.
