Zodiak Rights, the international division of Zodiak Media who claims to be one of the world’s top three independent media content groups, has finalised a trio of content deals in Latin America.
TVN Chile is picking up the format rights to True Talent, while TV Globo in Brazil has acquired the hidden camera game show format Oblivious. SBT Brazil meanwhile has ordered another season of Sing if You Can.
Globo will produce eight episodes locally titled Pegadinha Premiada to air as a segment within the local popular variety show, Domingão do Faustão, Globo’s most-watched Sunday show. Originally produced for Zodiak Media’s Mast Media and Stone & Co. for Spike (U.S.) and ITV (U.K.), previous Oblivous format deals include Turkey (TRT) and Germany (Prosieben).
TVN Chile has acquired the rights to the Zodiak Media format True Talent. TVN Chile will produce 12 episodes for broadcast later this year. True Talent is a unique prime time format, where it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a fabulous appearance or a magnetic personality, because on this show all that counts is your true talent to win the major cash prize. Originally produced by Zodiak Media’s Mastiff Sweden for TV3, the series premiere was the highest rating non-sport show of the year, attracting a 30.5% audience share within the key 15-39 age group.
Following the success of the current series, SBT Brazil has ordered another 13 episodes of Sing if You Can. Oiginally produced for ITV1 in the U.K., the show shows talented amateur singers attempting to deliver a winning performance despite a range of scary and occasionally painful distractions.
