Gregg Williams, suspended indefinitely by the NFL for his role in the New Orleans Saints' "bounty" program, is being hailed for his work in helping out a community hard-hit by a tornado
Scott Lyon told SN-TV in Wichita, Kan., that Williams happened to be in town Saturday night and spent about 30 to 45 minutes "chain sawing" and "cutting branches" before leaving to catch a flight to St. Louis.
"He's a really nice guy," Lyon said. "He went out and helped in a community he doesn't live in. He just wanted to help us.
"He was getting his hands pretty dirty."
A tornado swept through south Wichita on Saturday, causing significant damage but apparently no major injuries.
Williams, the Saints' defensive coordinator from 2009 to 2011, was hired as the St. Louis Rams' defensive coordinator this offseason before the scandal broke.
