French operator Bouygues Telecom has acquired the telco activities of French household appliances retailer Darty, a subsidiary of British group Kesa.
Darty launched its triple play activities in 2006, introducing its own box before extending it to mobile.
The amount of this acquisition has not been disclosed but Bouygues puts the hand on the 300,000 fixed phone Darty subs and on 40,000 mobile subs.
Darty will continue to handle the after-sales services on behalf of Bouygues Telecom for its former subscribers and the new ones recruited in Darty’s shops.
In a few weeks from now, Bouygues Telecom will introduce its new Bbox Sensation, hoping to generate subscription growth with it.
