Teleclub to launch HD platform

Swiss pay-TV broadcaster Teleclub will offer its TV package in high-definition (HDTV) from 12 September 2012.

The channels will be available on the cable networks and IPTV platforms currently carrying Teleclub's line-up in standard definition including Switzerland's two largest market players UPC Cablecom and Swisscom TV.

Teleclub's HD platform will comprise its own channels Teleclub Cinema HD, Teleclub Star HD and Teleclub Sport HD as well as a large number of partner channels such as Sky Atlantic HD, Disney Channel HD, ESPN America HD, National Geographic HD, History HD, Fox HD, TNT Film HD, TNT Serie HD, AXN HD, Glitz HD, Spiegel TV Wissen HD and Cartoon Network HD.

Teleclub Cinema offers more than 30 blockbuster movies as exclusive TV debuts each month while Teleclub Sport screens live sports events on up to 31 parallel channels including all games of domestic Swiss football league Super League and all matches of Swiss ice-hockey league National League A. The line-up also contains all games of German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A and top games of other international leagues, for example from Spain, the UK, Portugal and France, along with complete Formula 1 coverage and selected golf tournaments.

Further new HD channels are planned and will be announced at a later stage, according to Teleclub.
