Personalised streaming music service Spotify is launching an iPad app.

The company said its app features retina graphics for iPad; a new ‘Now Playing’ full-screen view with high-definition cover art; an improved search for playlists, users and music – all from the same view.
Users can check out what’s hot and find trending playlists and songs amongst their friends; in inbox grouped by user for easy searching; gapless playback and crossfade and full AirPlay integration.

“Enjoying all the world’s music instantly on your iPad has never been easier. And with the brand new full-screen view and AirPlay integration, Spotify and your iPad are perfect for each other, both as your pumped-up living room stereo and your lean, green music machine when you’re on the move,” touts the Spotify press release.

The iPad app is only for premium users, but newcomers can get a taster of the paid-for service for a free trail period of one month.
Spotify is available in 13 countries: USA, UK, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands and Spain, with more than 10 million active users, and claims over 3 million paying subscribers.

The promotional video below shows that the Spotify iPad app is a full-blown app rather than just a magnified iPhone app.
