Hungarian pay-DTT grows

Pay-DTT is now an established feature of the broadcasting market in Hungary.
Data produced by the regulator NMHH shows that the service MinDig TV Extra, which is operated by the national transmission company Antenna Hungária, claimed 57,283 subscribers and a 5.8% share of the wireless broadcasting sector at the end of March.
This compared to the 39.2% and 29% and 23.1% stakes held by Digi, T-Home and UPC Direct respectively.
UPC was nevertheless still the leading provider of subscription TV services irrespective of technology, with a market share of 25.8%.
The total number of DTH and MMDS subscription in Hungary at the end of March stood at 923,968.
There were also 725,548 digital cable and IPTV homes.
