Canal+ revs race past billion Euro mark

Canal+ Group’s Q1 2012 revenues reached €1.232 billion, a 3.4% increase year-on-year.
At the end of March 2011, Canal+ France’s revenues, which include Canal+ Group pay-TV operations in Mainland France, overseas territories and Africa, stood at €1.030 billion compared to €1.008 bn. Over the past 12 months, Canal+ France portfolio recorded a net growth of 211,000 subscriptions to reach close to 13 million subs and an increase in revenue per user (ARPU) in mainland France, despite a raise of VAT rate.
Revenues from other Canal+ Group operations grew strongly, driven by StudioCanal’s movie activities, new channel i>Télé and Canal+ Poland, where 81,000 new subs were attracted to end with a total of 1,720,000 subs.
Canal+ Group’s EBITA stood at €236 million compared to €265 million at the end of March 2011.
