Leading conditional access module (CAM) supplier SMIT says that it has reached a milestone of its strategic development in Asia Pacific with Corporate Membership of CASBAA the association for digital multichannel television, content, platforms, advertising and video delivery across Asia.
Founded in 2003, and headquartered in Shenzhen, China, SMIT produces technology that allows the protection of premium content to digital TVs without using a set-top-box.
It feels that there are big synergies in working with CASBAA who aims to promote the growth of pay-TV and video content through industry information, networking exchanges and events while promoting global best practices.
“We have been mainly focusing on European market in the past, and we believe it’s the right time to have strategic development in Asia Pacific,” said Stephen He, Executive Vice President of SMIT. “An additional 440 million homes are forecasted to become digital TV households by 2017 in Asia Pacific, which creates big market opportunity for whole industry ecosystem. We are honoured to become a member of CASBAA, and we have the same mission to promote growth of digital TV across Asia.”
