The forthcoming six new French DTT HD channels will start being broadcast on 12 December 12th, TV regulator CSA has announced.

The channels will initially cover a quarter of the metropolitan population in cities such as Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille, Bayonne, Auxerre, Lens and Troyes. They will be deployed until Autumn 2014 to reach 97% of French TV homes, like the previous bouquet of DTT channels.

Six projects were selected by CSA: HD1 for drama (TF1 Group), women Chérie HD (NRJ Group), sport channel L'Equipe HD (Amaury), family net 6 ter (M6 Group), documentary RMC Découverte (Next TV) and diversity channel TVous (Pink TV).

The channels will be broadcast from multiplex R7 and R8, with HD1 Chérie HD and L’Equipe HD carried on the first one while 6 ter RMC Découverte and TVous will go to multiplex R8.
