Cablevision Mexico and Alcatel-Lucent are to deploy data connections of up to 100 Gbps, with Alcatel-Lucent supplying Cablevision with next generation 100G technology, supported by the Photonic Service Switch 1830 (PSS).
This speed allows services such as high definition video, high-speed Internet and advanced business applications. The 100G network infrastructure of Cablevision, the first such network deployed in Mexico, will allow the operator to move large amounts of traffic and address the growing volume of data across the region created by consumer demand, and services companies requiring high bandwidth.
The network will dramatically expand capacity and provide a better quality of experience for subscribers while reducing operating and maintenance costs and power consumption.

Designed to meet the growing demand for higher bandwidth created by the transmission of video, web applications and cloud services, Alcatel-Lucent 100G provides exceptional performance, durability and reliability on existing networks and new optical transmission networks.

This solution is also part of the Converged Backbone Transformation Solution Alcatel-Lucent, a key element of the architecture Alcatel-Lucent High Leverage Network (HLN), designed to reduce transportation costs and dramatically simplify the operational complexity of core networks.
