Hispanic broadcaster Univision has formed a new social media communications team, led by David Beck as vice president and GM of social media.

"Our audience is sharing our digital content and engaging on social media in fast-growing numbers," said Mónica Talán, senior vice president of corporate communications and public relations. "This is the right time to expand our efforts and build on our success."

As part the company's comprehensive engagement strategy to create interactive experiences Univision leverages an array of social media, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, GetGlue, Viggle and Foursquare.

"Our goal is to deepen the already-strong relationship Univision has with our audience," said Beck. "We want to help our viewers discover and engage with our content on multiple media platforms and we want to make it easier than ever for them to share Univision content through their social channels. Our team has the drive and expertise to push Univision forward in this arena."

Previously, Beck served as vice president of strategic initiatives for the office of the CEO at Univision, where he led multiple initiatives focused on revenue and ratings growth opportunities as well as operational improvement.
