German video-on-demand (VOD) provider OnDemand Deutschland and Austrian IPTV service company Ocilion IPTV Technologies have teamed up to offer network operators a complete solution for the operation of a VOD platform.

With the system provided by the joint venture, set up by German media company Tele München Gruppe and UK-based OnDemand Group, consumers can access Hollywood blockbuster movies and other premium content on their TV sets.

The B2B package comprises licence rights and delivery of the content, updating of the VOD menus, advertising banners and billing. Mobile devices can also be integrated.

Consumers can watch the movies in streaming mode from €1.99 per title during a 48-hour period as often as they like.

According to the companies, the system creates almost no additional expenses for network operators, making it especially attractive to small operators. The target group is network operators throughout the German-speaking countries in Europe.
