Korean media and entertainment organisation CJ PowerCast has deployed Aspera's high-performance fasp transport and management technologies to automate and administer its digital asset systems. CJ PowerCast operates a range of cable, satellite and IPTV channels as well as regional TV stations. It also provides post-production, digital advertising and content management services. It selected the web-based Aspera Connect Server and Aspera Console management platform to satisfy its requirements for file transfer and digital asset automation. They have been integrated into its systems and portals using Aspera's robust set of APIs to facilitate mission critical media asset exchange with partners in Asia, Europe and North America.
CJ PowerCast's senior research manager Jaemin Hwang said: "We were first interested in Aspera because so many of our media partners already have large Aspera deployments and swear by the technology.
"With over 1,600 customers worldwide we knew that Aspera had an excellent reputation. But after conducting our proof of concept tests, we realized the reasons why: bulletproof security, perfect bandwidth utilisation, and open APIs that let us quickly adapt fasp and the Aspera Connect Server into our existing infrastructure and live systems to run our business more efficiently."
John Wastcoat, vice president at Aspera, added: "CJ PowerCast has the kind of complex business use cases that we're seeing from more and more of our global customer base," said . "They need the ability to transfer, manage, report and automate from within their existing systems, and they need to do it quickly. Our diverse platform support and powerful--but very easy to use--APIs allow us to meet and exceed customer expectations, and continue growing the business at such a fast rate."
