CNBC, Yahoo! team up on original content

The CNBC cable financial news network has struck a deal with and Yahoo! Finance to syndicate content through Yahoo's financial news arm. Meanwhile, Yahoo! will use CNBC as its broadcast platform going forward for original programming.
Later in the year, the two will also team up on co-branded, original Web videos for CNBC.com and the Yahoo! Finance portal. That dovetails with overall strategy: Yahoo! has been steadily increasing its foray into the world of original online video content.
A joint statement said the two companies will maintain editorial control of their respective sites. According to comScore, CNBC and Yahoo Finance have a combined online audience of more than 40 million unique visitors per month.
"Yahoo! Finance's journalists will contribute to CNBC's Business Day programming and CNBC clips, news and analysis will be prominently integrated into Yahoo! Finance and featured across the Yahoo! network," the companies noted.
