Telemundo prepares for the Olympics

Telemundo Media unveiled its plans for the Spanish-language coverage of the London Olympics for which the company will offer live coverage from London and from the studios of Telemundo in the United States.

The offering will feature over 173 hours of content across multiple platforms, over 20 presenters, including sportswriters, Olympic medallists, experts and celebrities.

In terms of digital coverage, the company will present its first live broadcast online and mobile content in Spanish, and employ a strategy using social networks.

"Telemundo will redefine the experience of the Olympics for U.S. Hispanics," said Jorge Hidalgo, executive VP of Telemundo Sports Media and executive producer of Telemundo's coverage. "Whether viewing our live skills, or feel inspired by the performance of a Spanish athlete, or simply enjoying the atmosphere of the games, our audience will experience London in 2012 as never before has done."

The production of reports and stories will be an important element in the channel's programming, which will detail the history of Hispanic athletes in their efforts to reach the Olympic victory. It will provide reports on Telemundo Sports athletes from Latin America and the United States in order to portray their personal stories.

Finally the cable network mun2 will offer London, an innovative perspective and a look behind the scenes to events in London to be presented by Guadalupe Venegas and Omar Amador.
