The Czech Telecom Office (CTU) has begun an investigation into Skylink and CS Link, the country’s two largest DTH platforms.

According to Digizone, it has been prompted by complaints about their plan to introduce a monthly service charge of CZK29 (€1.12) this September for a hitherto free offer, which includes channels from the Czech public broadcaster CT.

Skylink and CS Link are both owned by the Luxembourg-based M77 and account for around three in four DTH subscribers in the Czech Republic.

They are also the leading DTH platforms in neighbouring Slovakia, where the country’s Telecom Office has expressed displeasure at the move.
