German cable operator Tele Columbus has taken several new high-definition TV channels on board its cable network.

Pay-TV channels AXN HD and Spiegel TV's Wissen HD are now part of the line-up. Earlier this month, Fox HD and National Geographic HD and, in standard definition, Deutsches Wetterfernsehen joined the portfolio.

The new additions, along with 30 other channels, are part of subscription package Digital TV Komplett which is fed to cable head-ends through a collaboration with Eutelsat's direct-to-cable platform KabelKiosk.

The new Sky Deutschland channel Sky Atlantic HD joined Tele Columbus' cable network in May 2012.

In total, the company now offers 40 HD channels including all 14 public HD channels, six commercial and four pay-TV channels, as well as 16 Sky HD channels.
