Al Jazeera’s second premium sports channel, beIN Sport 2, will kick off on 27 July. It will follow the launch last June of sister channel beIN Sport 1.
The new channel will be carried on all IPTV, cable and dish platforms in France. This includes offers from Alice, Bouygues Telecom, CanalSat, DartyBox ADSL, DartyBox THD, Free, Mediaserv,
Numericable, Orange, Parabole Réunion, SFR and Bis.
beIN Sport 2 will show live events, but also more news editions than beINSport 1 and reruns from its sister channel too.
According to Le Figaro, the beIN Sport package is said to have already attracted between 350,000 and 400,000 subs in one month. Significant figures will however come out after the launch period and the initial curiosity is over.
