Online TV viewing in France, including catch-up TV, has grown 74.5% over the last year to reach 1.25 billion TV programmes requested over the last five months of 2012.
According to research company NPA Conseil, viewing on PC remains high and dominant. Yet viewing by mobile and tablet has multiplied by a factor of five over the year to reach 27% of the market and there were 71 million videos requested for May alone.
By genre, drama and entertainment are the two main kinds of programming requested to reach 30% of the total viewing. They respectively registered 35% and 31% respectively of the total online TV viewing last May. Comparatively, entertainment represents less than 16% of the French live TV viewing.
