Colombia will have a new national TV network in 2013 to join existing channels Caracol and RCN.

The country's National Television Authority (ANTV) has given the green light for a third private national network

Alexandra Falla, representative of the governors on the board of ANTV, confirmed that they are ready for the pre-bid of the tender, which will take four to five months.

Beyond the questions about the ability of the advertising market to allow three private channels, the biggest problems have stemmed from the political differences and disputes between Colombian regulators.

Diego Molano Vega Falla, Minister of ICT, noted that the open bidding processes for the entry of a new pay TV operator will increase supply and stimulate the sector.
