Sports channel ESPN will continue to screen the matches of Germany's domestic football league Bundesliga in the UK and Ireland. DFL Sports Enterprises has now extended the contract with the pay-TV broadcaster for the three seasons between 2012/13 and 2014/15.
The rights package comprises live TV coverage of Bundesliga games, the Supercup, friendly games and relegation matches as well as a weekly preview and highlights show. Also included are the rights for content distribution on video-on-demand (VOD), online and mobile platforms.
ESPN will screen at least four Bundesliga games live in HDTV per week. Through online and mobile portals, the channel will also provide fans with news, information, analyses and videos.
