    Huge memory consumption with CACHE-EX

    I see something strange in my setup for cacheex=3. Memory usage increase every minute when all my ram is used oscam crash.
    Did you know solution about this.

    That is my config:
    Code:
    [global]
    disablelog                    = 1
    usrfileflag                   = 1
    clienttimeout                 = 4700
    fallbacktimeout               = 3300
    failbantime                   = 3600
    failbancount                  = 5
    dropdups                      = 1
    bindwait                      = 40
    nice                          = -2
    serialreadertimeout           = 3200
    maxlogsize                    = 10000

    waitforcards_extra_delay      = 350
    preferlocalcards              = 1
    saveinithistory               = 1
    readerrestartseconds          = 3600
    cacheexwaittime               = 700
    max_cache_time                = 6
    max_cache_count               = 10000

    [cccam]
    port                          =
    reshare                       = 1

    Os Ubuntu server 12.04 32bit - pc fujitsu scenic e600 into the log there is nothing strange i have over 20 cacheex exchanges.
    For now i have temporally solution - check oscam every 20 sec if process is down script bring it up. in my case my 2 GB RAM is full for about 1:30 hours so 10 sec down for 1:30 hours is not to much but my other oscam (without cacheex) work without crashes whole day cccam also.

    Re: Did you met hudge memory consumation with cacheex=3

    I dont have such issues (oscam 7212). I am using very basic settings though:

    [global]
    logfile = /var/log/oscam.log
    clienttimeout = 6000
    fallbacktimeout = 1600
    failbantime = 1440
    failbancount = 5
    cachedelay = 10
    nice = -1
    max_cache_time = 8
    max_cache_count = 3000

    7 cache-ex users btw.

    Re: Did you met hudge memory consumation with cacheex=3

    what I can see from yor log... it's not a crash yet

    I can see you are looking for mistake in Oscam Setup..... but I'm afraid you may be looking in wrong direction..... most likelly whaen you push your Oscam so far.... limitation will come from OS

    anyway...... too many things depends on oscam version....... (the way pipes are open)

    12.04 minimum memory is 384mb, compare to 10.04 arond 190mb (we talking about desktop version)...... that is absolute minimum and will be used after system startup.
    I can bet that you may use some other programs as well.... large programs like Openoffice will use all your ram and system will take the needed from swap
    so Have a look at your swap file... you may have to increase it. base minimum for Ubuntu swap to ram is 1=1, for 2 GB ram = 2GB swap

    as I said earlier from your log It's not a crash
    But I may suspect It will be too many open pipes.... and this is limitation by OS and Oscam itself. There are many reasons why your resource limits might be too low.
    you may have to play around with "ulimit -a"..... and compile Oscam after that again..... it will be set according new system limits

    if none of that helps.......I'm afraid if you want to use the pc you have and to use you need to consider More minimalistic version of linux.... like Debian for Example

    Why 6000 when CCcam timeouts on 4 sec?
    And why you have delay on cache??

    Here. I am doing the same right now, because OScam 7212 crashes randomly.
