FOX to bring Liverpool FC documentary to American shores

Beloved English football club Liverpool FC is raising its profile with Americans via FOX Sports, which is working on a documentary about the club entitled Being Liverpool, set to air 16 September.

The film of England's most successful football club will be available via FOX's pay-TV sports channel in the U.S. and on Channel 5 at home.The film will follow ex-manager Kenny Dalglish in his quest for the FA Cup, and also the rise of new coach Brendan Rodgers. The film is still in production, with camera crews planning on following players into the new season.

The debut comes as the popularity of global football (soccer to Americans) is on the rise in the U.S. following the tremendous success of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, broadcast in English with full commentary for the first time in the country. Meanwhile, FOX was instrumental in bringing English Premier League to prime viewing hours this year on both its boadcast network and cable net. Meanwhile, ESPN's telecast of the UEFA Europ 2012 tournament set ratings records.
