Canal + has reported laSexta’s Mediapro to Spanish TV authorities over an auction by the company of broadcasting rights to games in La Liga and League Two concerning football teams who Canal+ believes it has sole access to.

The broadcaster says that in the case of the Mediapro offer, it will exercise any legal action it deems necessary to defend its interests in the clubs. Canal + argues that Mediapro has included in its offer games from football clubs that have signed a contract with Canal +, and whose rights of audiovisual exploitation are unique to Canal + for the next two football seasons.

Canal + has acquired the broadcast rights of Atletico Madrid, RC Celta de Vigo, RCD Espanyol, Getafe, Osasuna, Real Sociedad, Real Zaragoza, Athletic Bilbao and Real Betis for the seasons 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15.
