Switzerland's largest cable operator UPC Cablecom has recorded ongoing growth with its triple play services in Q2 2012: 54,600 new subscriptions for digital TV, internet and telephony were taken in the 3-month period, the subsidiary of US media company Liberty Global announced in Zurich.

For its digital TV line-up, 33,800 new customers were won. A total of 661,800 customers have now made the transition to digital television. A key growth factor was the addition of more than 35 new channels of which 26 are offered in HD quality.

The number of internet customers rose by 10,900 to 580,600 while the number of telephony customers grew by 9,900 to 385,900.

The total number of cable customers increased by 1,400 to 1.5 million, mainly due to the acquisition of cable operator Télémeyrin.
