Sky Germany takes Lothar Matthäus on-board

Lothar Matthäus, one of Germany's football icons, will work as an expert for pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland.

The record national team player will analyse the weekly top Saturday night Bundesliga game in the 2012/13 season.

Matthäus already acted as a TV expert at several World Cups and European Championships, for example during the World Cups 2002 and 2006 for Sky (back then called Premiere). Most recently, the 51-year old Bavarian has been the coach of Bulgaria's national football team.

Matthäus will be seen for the first time on 21 and 22 August 2012 at 18.15 CET in Sky's Bundesliga preview show dubbed "The next season is always the most difficult". The former football star's first live appearance will be on 25 August, the first match day of domestic first-division league 1. Bundesliga, at 17.30 CET during the game between Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen.
