Endemol Brazil appoints FOX Brazil exec as new GM

Endemol, the world's largest independent production company, has announced that Juliana Algañaraz, operations and productions services director at FOX Brazil has been appointed General Manager of Endemol Brazil.

She will be based at Endemol Brazil's offices in São Paulo.During her 16 year career in television Juliana has held numerous senior positions in the industry.

This has included managing international projects at Channel 13 in Argentina as executive producer; coordinating productions across Latin America for Discovery Networks Latam as production manager, and creating and managing international productions for Canal Azul / Teleimage as executive producer.

More recently she has been manager of acquisitions and new content for RedeTV!, and manager of artistic production at RPC-TV, affiliated with Globo Networks.

In March 2009 Juliana took the role of director of content at Casablanca Group before being appointed to FOX Brazil in June 2011.

As GM of Endemol Brazil, Algañaraz will work to continue a streak of hits, which has started with scripted series such as La Dueña and Los Graduados, non-scripted shows including The Money Drop, The Last Passenger, Cuestion de Peso, My Name Is and Big Brother, and international production for global hits including Fear Factor and Wipeout, which are made at the production hubs in Argentina for broadcasters around the world.

Since launching in early 2009 Endemol Brazil has undergone a period of sustained growth, selling local versions of Endemol hits including Extreme Makeover: Social Edition, Deal or No Deal, 1 vs. 100, The Last Passenger, Conveyor Belt of Love and The Money Drop as well as locally created reality show Amazonia.
